Ani-Me Con 6.0

Ani-Me Con returns to Fresno this year dubbed as ‘Ani-Me Con 6.0’, at the Big Fresno Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19. The all ages event boast an impressive list of over 125 vendors, artists, exhibitors, and fan clubs, along with special guest appearances by WWE Hall of Famer, Rikishi, and YouTube star, D-Piddy.

It’ll be a time to embrace the fantastic, to suit up as your favorite sci-fi/fantasy character and pay tribute, or throw down and test your mettle in a multitude of gaming tournaments. It’ll be a time to showcase local talent with vendors, artists, musicians, cosplayers, and a variety of live entertainment.

For the first time, WWE star and Hall of Famer, Rikishi, will be topping out Ani-Me Con’s special guest roster. A member of the famed Anoa’i wrestling family, Rikishi rose to superstardom during the 90s with his trademark bleached blonde hair, hip sunglasses, and sumo wrestling gear. Best known for his signature move of The Stink Face, which consisted of cornering his opponent, stand over them, and then proceeding to plant his rear on their faces, Rikishi left the WWE in 2004 as a legend having worked with the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Scotty 2 Hotty, and The Rock.

More special guests round out the event such as Nick Palma who doubled as Michaelangelo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze, and as a stuntman in the 3rd installation of the TMNT franchise.  Also making an appearance is YouTube star D-Piddy, who’s best known for his antics dressing as famous fictional characters as shenanigans ensue.

Ani-Me Con continues to reign as the largest annual anime/gaming event in the Central Valley. Last year, over 6,000 attendees came out to the 2-day weekend convention and this year proves to host even more. Upgrading to the much larger venue of the Big Fresno Fairgrounds, there will be 2 indoor venues with well over 44,000 square feet of space, a 10,000 square foot patio, and if that wasn’t enough the event will also be using a pavilion, adding 25,000 square feet of outdoor space to the entire convention totaling around 80,000 square feet of event space.

The list continues to grow as appearances and performances are added in the days closer to the event.
