Central Valley’s Largest Comedy Competition

The Central Valley’s Largest Comedy Competition is Back with $10,000 in Cash and Prizes

Fresno, California– The Central Valley Comedy Competition is open to up-and-coming comics from all over the United States. This is the third installment of the Valley’s largest comedy competition to date. Previous years saw winners receiving $5,000 in cash and prizes. This year Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino has teamed up with Unique Entertainment, and is upping the ante. The Central Valley Comedy Competition boasts $10,00 in cash and prizes. Watch comics from all over the United States battle it out to for the win.

The Central Valley Comedy Competition was created by Q97.1’s Andre Covington. Covington is a veteran comedian, and co-host on The Greg and Dre morning show. The first winner of the Central Valley Comedy Competition , Samuel Comroe came in 4th place on this year’s season of America’s Got Talent!

The Central Valley Comedy Competition started with an idea Covington had to give back. Covington was in numerous high profile comedy competitions and credits them for teaching him the comedy ropes. He decided he wanted to provide that same opportunity to other aspiring comedians.

There were 4 preliminary rounds held in different locations. With 15 comics performing each night. The top 4 from each round are set to advance and head to the semi-finals at Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino, October 19th.

The top 5 overall will move on from Chukchansi to battle it out in the finals, October 27th at Warnor’s Theatre in downtown Fresno. There they will compete for over $10,000 in cash and prizes. The finals will have a special guest performance by the one and only Mark Curry, from ‘Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper.’ There will be additional special guest performances throughout the competition. The Central Valley Comedy Competition will be hosted by Greg and Dre morning show co-host and nationally recognized comedian Andre Covington.
