Owner: Jean Fennacy

Petunia’s Place has been in Fresno for more than 35 years. Jean Fennacy, a former teacher and teacher educator is the owner. She was a reading specialist in Fresno Unified and directed the graduate reading program at Fresno Pacific University for more than 20 years. 

The store carries a very wide selection of books for toddlers through teenagers as well as a small collection of books for adults. Puppets, stuffed animals, puzzles and games can also be found on the shelves. Seasonal displays are featured and the store often hosts local authors. 

Small Business Day is a special time when the store has several authors present to sign books. The store is the Central Valley’s independent bookstore and is staffed by passionate readers.
